Help Plz W/Overwintering Trop Hibs

I have 2 beautiful NOID Trop Hibs. I am in zone 7 central Jersey. I will have to be bringing them in this week, but I dont have room to keep them going over winter. I want to put them in the cool basement by a southern window. Kinda have them semi-dormant? The basement doesnt go below freezing.
Do you all think they will be OK like that? I really do not want to lose these..any ideas on what I can do to keep these guys alive through winter would be greatly appreciated.
And another question is...Before I put them down there can I prune them to save space so they both will fit OK in front of the window, or should I wait till spring to prune?
TIA,

| They should be okay in the conditions you describe. Prune away if you wish. Don't forget to water occasionally--but let them get dry between waterings.--Don't worry even if they go semi-deciduous--they should regrow once Spring comes! Good luck. |

Thanks NJOasis. I started pruning today, just the extra long branches..but I didnt get too far..sooo many buds and blooms, it's hard to cut, lol. I am tempted to throw them in the bathtub with the nanner under lights for the winter, but I hear so much about whitefly trouble and aphids..I guess the best thing is the basement. Just so hard to cut off the pretty blooms and buds. :( Thanks again..the pruning was my main worry, was scared if I did it now, they may not regrow and bloom properly. I feel better now :) |
