Daniella, I believe I used African Violet soil for my Green Tacca seeds. I had 2 successful sproutings out about a dozen seeds. I started them in a "mini greenhouse", a clear covered food container like you get at the bakery in the grocery store.

I started mine in a mix of peat and coir fiber. I covered the pot and put it on a seed mat. They finally germinated after several months but I lost them to damping off after all that waiting : (

They do take a few mos to germinate. I used to grow them in LA and they loved that melt-your-face-off humidity there! Here they hated it- too dry I guess. They might have done better if I had kept them in my bathroom with the skylights.
