Early Dawn Surprise

One morning this late Sept. I woke up and the dawn was just starting to break, while letting the cat out, I noticed the buds on this cestrum nocturnum were still open.

The real surprise was that is was covered in tiny litle hummingbird moths. I usually see them at night, but in the early AM you could really see them. So I ran for the camera and locked up the naughty cat that was going crazy trying to catch these little critters. I dont know the exact species of these Sphinx (HB) moths.

They were covering the whole bush but were moving so fast that it was impossible to get a good close shot of more than one at a time with my slow digital camera :(

The night beforeI caught a few photos of this Pink Spotted Hawkmoth on moonflowers and mandevilla. They also seem to like stephanotis.
