If you're from the central valley, CA and Bakersfield is nearby, visit the Kern County Superior Court Building on Truxtun Ave. They've got a nice frontage that consists of many clumps of Strelitzia Reginae and what I think, are Chusan Palms. Though, it's possible I may be wrong and they may be European Fans. The Strelitzia are all in bloom and I found one of them with a dried out pod that someone or something had broken open to expose the seeds.

Sorry, I didn't have my camera with me as it is enlightening to see how the seeds fill the lower pod part of the flower. It's a very nice display of Strelitzia if you can visit and are interested in checking it out.
