Most tropical fruits need a lot of warmth to produce. They will do fine overwintering indoors, but need to go outside during the summer if you want any fruit from them. You can use natural pesticides if bugs do become a problem. A little bit of Neem oil with a little soap and water seems to figs aphids, white flies, and scale pretty well and it is safe to use on plants and will not hurt beneficial bugs. You can probably by beneficial bugs for your yard also to keep things such as aphids out of sight.

Thanks for telling me about the natural pesticides. I'll try them outside this summer, but with the climate here I think these plants may do better in a green house.
