| Hey everyone
This is my first posting on Garden web. I'm Noel Ramos from Coral Springs Fl. Some of you know me, to others I will be the "new guy". I have been growing tropical fruits for over 20 years and have grown and fruited many rare fruits here including Ilama, Soursop, Abiu, Sugar apples, Rollinia, Jakfruit and others. This is zone 10 so most of the tropicals do well here except for the real wimpy ones like Breadfruit. Once I figure out how to post photos, I will do so!

| Hi Noel, I just reread your 2004 article on A. squamosa in Fruit Gardener and found it very interesting. I'm a relatively new CRFG member in southern California (pouring over back issues), and the only annona I've ever tasted is cherimoya, but I'm interested in experimenting with others. Have you heard of others having much success with this tree in California? I was thinking of growing several seedlings and grafting one or two to cherimoya rootstock, to see how they fared, compared to the sugar apples on their own roots. Do you ever distribute seeds of your Big Red variety? If you had some to spare, I'd gladly pay postage. Thanks for any help you can provide. James |
