Your Avocado tree is still very young and it may eventually even out some more. It looks kind of spindly so I wouldn't top it but you can let it grow out its main branch until there are several internodes pointing in a symmetrical fashion and then remove the tip so that new branches will begin to form at the nodes. Avocado trees get huge. If you are growing this tree for fruit, I would recommend you plant a grafted tree as they will produce sooner with good quality reliable fruit.

You never know what kind of fruit you get from a seed although I did plant a Hass Avocado seed and the tree eventually produced Hass Like Avocados.

Yes, I've trimmed the top more recently and it looks like it's beginning to grow two tiny branches at the top like it's supposed to. It sounds like you think more branches will help it balance out? That's great news.

I'm really not expecting it to give me any fruit because I have heard that ones grown from pits tend to never grow fruit. It would be a nice bonus though if it decided to in the future!

Also does anybody know a good way to stop the leaves from getting brown at the ends like mine is doing? I don't think it's a lack of water issue, but I might be wrong.
