Grafting a black sapote onto a persimmon

Hi everyone,

I originally posted this in the fruits forum and was told i might have better luck here. I have an oriental persimmon (D. kaki) and am looking to graft a black sapote (D. digyna) onto it. Probably just a branch not the whole tree. They are both Diospyros species so they should be compatible? The only thing I can think of it that the black sapote is a tropical/ sub tropical species while the persimmon is temperate. Anyone have any experience grafting these two species? Thanks

It could be possible but I have not tried it. Give it a shot and let us know if it takes. Try a couple of attempts.
