Avocado Help

User

Hello everyone,
I recently started gardening as a hobbie. I have grown 6 Mango plants from pit that are a few feet high. I also grew two Avocado's from the pit in soil. These were bought in the local grocery market. They were small and had a bumpy texture to them. I think they were from mexico. I just changed the soil to a soil/vermiculite mix. One looks healthy and the other isn't looking good. Can they grow in gritty mix? Should i wait for them to stabilize before another transplant? Do i need to check the soil ph or anything else I can do?
