aquaponic feed - it's high in protein
green mulch
livestock feed
cleans bodies of water of metals
etc.

It might be illegal in California.

I think there are much better plants to do that. I know some common houseplants are used to do that. Peace Lilly is great at that.but others too. For outdoor ponds,many bog plants out there will do that.
