Is there a dwarf variety of tamarind tree?

I would love to grow a dwarf tamarind tree in a container. I remember traveling in parts of Asia during my childhood where tamarind trees were hundreds of feet tall similar to the majestic California redwoods! I want a small tree that can grow in a container and produce a few fruit for consumption too. Am I hoping for too much??

Good question, I think the weather would lower the vigor. I would look into using bonsai techniques to keep the tree in a container.
