Clover from Hades

I recently removed all of the grass from my yard and the soil is surprisingly good. Dark soil / sand no doubt soil left behind from several layers of sod over the years?

Anyway the yard has bloomed with the longest rooted clover (roots 8-10") and continues to sprout no matter how often I turn the soil.

Does anyone have suggestions on how I can limit or kill the stuff without affecting my fruit trees?

are you in South Florida? "clover" sounds like you may be dealing with wood sorrel.

its a popular invasive creeper here.

the best thing you can do is try to find a tree trimmer who can unload a truck full of mulched wood chips use it as cover, or try to get a beneficial ground cover like perennial peanut. perennial peanut fixes nitrogen in the soil. If you keep up on weeding it will creep and choke out invasives
