Manila Mango and Tropical Pink Guava. Where to plant?

New to this forum! In our search for dwarf citrus, we came across a Craigslist ad, and drove to the nursery.

They did not have the citrus varieties we wanted but we walked out with a Manila Mango and a Tropical Pink Guava.

Should we protect these trees against a wall with northern exposure, reflected sun from the concrete driveway, and reflected sun from the south facing house wall..across the driveway? It would get full sun all day and be on a drip system, but protected somewhat from night chills due to the warmth retained in the concrete. OR, do we let them just grow somewhere in full sun with no protection on our 1.5 acres?

This is a semi-tropical climate. Macadamias, figs, citrus and Avocados thrive. It's sort of bordering on Mediterranean and Tropical.

I would love your input and any experience you have had with either of these varieties, and any suggestions to their care!

Thanks so much!

Suzi
