Here is the first picture of my sapodilla tree. I'm not sure what variety it is but my guess it could be a 'Jantung' cultivar which is a malaysian variety. The tree is about 7 feet tall and more than three years old
Here are some of the immature fruits on the tree. Normally it takes about 7 months for it to mature from the period the flower is fertilzed. There about 40 or more fruits on this tree of various size.
I usually fertilize the tree once every two weeks with liquid fertilizer. So far i haven't encountered any problem with the tree except from aphid and mealy bug infestation but that is usually taken care of with a spray of pesticide when needed
Hey Nisperolover, What fruit is a nÃÂspero exactly? Is it a sapodilla (Manilkara zapota)? My Nicaraguan relatives say it looks more like a kiwi but this website indicates that it is a sapodilla... Thanks, Ryan
