Good luck. I've got a couple and they've grown fast and have fruit
on them. Assume you'll put it in the ground = they take off there....

Is that a TR Hovey ?
I thought they were a DWARF, getting no more than 5-6 ft tall ?

I had several large papaya. the seeds were from a Caribbean Red -
(type of Maradol from Mexico)
they died this past winter though.

One reason i wanted a dwarf, is the taller they get, the more you have to worry about freezing temps., and so i can keep it in a container and take it in and out.
i am planting (in ground) several other varieties of Papaya

I know, I've heard the "dwarf" label put on them. Don't know what to tell you. Maybe I got the wrong variety? (just my luck....)_ Well let's see
how they taste. Yummy is what I'm looking for anyway. My TR Hovey have red stems on the leaves - is that an accurate trait of this Papaya... do you know?

Can't remember where I bought them but they came as little plants (I think) or where they seeds XX!!!??ZZZ They are 8 feet tall and about 2 1/2 years old now.....

well 8ft isnt that bad, i guess the angle of the pic makes them look bigger than that.
Mine was about 16ft and less than 2yrs old.

Yours looks very interesting now i look again.
it has rounded fruits.
Glad to hear they taste good. its one thing i was worried about with the Hovey.

As far as the red... im not sure, i have seen a little red on all of mine. im pretty sure its normal.
One place i read said it was a mineral deficiency, but it must be only if its too much red....
mine were very healthy before the freeze.
