What is on my mango

gnappi

I have a mango that has developed an odd "thing" on the end of one branch. I've seen it before on Guava and cut / burned the small branch it was on. I have no idea what it is and unless someone can tell me how to post here, I'll do my best to describe it.

The branch has an oily sheen on it, and many green "wart" looking things about 1/8" and are oval shaped. There is also some black sooty dirt on the end of the branches.

Can anyone tell me what it may be and a prevention / cure for it?

TIA,

Gary
