Anyone have luck in high elevations? (Hawaii)

Hey all I'm living in central Florida and looking at land in Hawaii. I've found two pieces of beautiful land for sale, both 3 acres.. but one is in Volcano which City Data says is 3723 feet elevation and one is in Mountain View which is at 1440 feet.

Does anyone grow tropical fruits at those elevations? The land in Volcano is cheaper and cleared but I'm leaning towards the Mountain View piece because the elevation is lower. I want to grow black sapote, cacao, citrus, bananas and other fruits.
