hello, im documenting the history of all the varieties of my Lychees and Mangos. im basically looking for the year they were introduced, by who, from where and the meaning of their names. heres what i have so far.

Nam Doc Mai- Thailand in 1973 by the USDA

Tong Dam - (black gold) Thailand in 1973 by Dr. Robert J. Knight RFC Miami

Po Pyu Kalay - Myanmar

Chouanon - Thailand/Malaysia

Carrie - Mr. Lawrence H. Zill, Boynton Beach, Florida in 1940 named after Zills mother

Zebda - Egypt

St. Maui -

Alphonso - India, named after Afonso de Albuquerque

Alampur Baneshan - Andrah Pradesh, North India,

Julie - Jamaica, named after St. Julian

Ice Cream - Tobago by Maurice Kong

Rosigold -


Sweetheart Lychee - 1989, Australia, Susan and Brent Probinsky of Florida Star Groves, Inc.

Brewster Lychee - Chen Tze, royal purple Chen (after the Chen family) 1903 - 1906 by Reverend Dr. William N. Brewster

Mauritius Lychee -

Groff Lychee - 1953, Univ. of Hawaii, named after Prof. Weidman Groff
