TR Hovey papaya doesn't seem quite right

Hello all,

This papaya is well watered and was given Dynamite 13-13-13 fertilizer. Yet the leaves are always sort of droopy and it just doesn't seem right. What might be ailing it?

Appreciate any thoughts.

Hi Brian - it looks fine to me! I know mine will definitely look wilty and droopy on a hot day, but...I don't know....I don't see anything wrong with yours....

Funny thing though - my T.R. Hovey has red blotches on the trunk and red stems on the leaves...yours looks all green unless its the way the picture shows it...I wonder which one of us has the wrongly identified plant?X?X?!!

Let me go see if I can take a picture....

Gary, maybe you are right, and perhaps it will "take off" now that spring/summer is here. I suppose I expected it to have a wider canopy, based on the pictures I've seen of TR Hovey online.

Yours looks nice and healthy, hard to say whether they are the same plant or not.

Has yours fruited yet?
