Oh ya, is it bad to let the cut open portion touch your skin? I rested the veneer on my knee on the open wound area while cutting the notch on the other end

Generally I try to keep my exposed budwood cambium from coming in contact with anything, including my own skin, to avoid contamination as best as possible and prevent bacterial/fungal infection. I typically rest the budwood on the opposite side of the cut while I make the cut on the rootstock. I also always sterilize the grafting knife before each cut.

Yes, its certainly possible to do 2 veneer grafts on the same rootstock.
