Very nice grumi, much nicer than mine. Looks like they're ready for consumption. They're supposed to be one of the best eugenias. Let us know what you think. Mine is finally starting to look decent, and it flowered a few weeks ago too.
Thanks. They taste very similar to a cherry. Not as good as a good Ranier though. But they are pretty good and it is something fruiting in the greenhouse so that's always a winner. I love the plant though. The foliage is nice and when new, nice and glossy. The bark is my favorite.
Very nice tree, Mine is still small, I live in the tropics, so regular cherries are exotic here, so I found a Grumichama, with the hope to satisfy my cherry craving.
The plant is pretty and makes a nice ornamental, I have it in a very big pot.
I wonder, could these fruits be made into cherry pie? hmmm
Maybe when they are in the earlier stage of ripening up. The fruit is very soft when ripe. They would just disitegrate when cooked. I bet they would make an excellent jam though.
