All of your choices sound like pretty good matches for a smaller mango tree. You may want to also consider the Fairchild. Nam Doc Mai and Carrie would be the two larger trees of those you mention, while Pickering would be the smallest with the others all in between.

After a recommendation when looking for a small mango tree to fill a spot in my already packed yard, I planted a Pickering last summer from a 15 gallon container. It immediately sprouted numerous leaf buds and took off. This year the small round tree is full of mangos... some dragging the ground, and it's no taller than 4 feet. I have yet to taste the fruit but I beleive it will be a different and an excellent tasting mango.

Does Cogshall produce as prolifically as NDM?

MGB... are you going to always keep this tree in a container or eventually plant it. I have never heard or seen anybody successfuly maintain a Glenn in a container and get good production and health. My Glenn has grown more than most of my trees in six years that I planted it. However, I understand that Cogshall is a good type for containers... maybe someone who has tasted one can vouch for the eating characteristics. I have no more room now but if I had it to do over I would not have planted a Carrie and instead would have a Valencia Pride... I think that Pine Island's four star rating is an injustice; I would give it a solid five!

If you must, do Nam Doc, not Valencia Pride. Nam Doc is much, much more compact than Valencia Pride.
