A few of my ripening glens are getting these black blotches only on the top area where the stem connects.. I have painted th e stems with the white latex tree trunk paint but does not look like that's working.. Also trying shade cloth on the western side to protect against that harsh western exposure seems to help some but not completely.

Could this be something else? Or is it just the intense Phoenix sun thats messing it up? The skin hasn't broken and the rest of the fruit is still firm so i don't think it will really affect two much..I'm not sure when the fruits will be ready to pick, they till seem small to me.. Are glens typically smaller than the Tommy Atkins in the stores?
