My avocado was nearly killed by a severe freeze this year. It was probably 12 feet at the time. We covered it, but it wasn't enough. I ended up topping it in order to get it in the garage. It somehow survived all of these traumas. It is now about 4 or 5 feet and is finally beginning to make a comeback. Strangely enough it us developing branches from beneath the soil line. I'm wondering if I should just cut them off.
