You know, the more I eat lychees the more I realize that there isn't a lychee that I don't like. My Kaimanas are just coming into season and they are still up there for me. My Garnet tree did not fruit this year. My neighbors had a well drilled very near where my Garnet tree is located and lots of material from that drilling flooded my Garnet. It now has some sort of leaf issue that looks like a mineral deficiency. Anyway, Mauritius fruits were especially good and quite large this year. Brewster are smaller but very intensely flavored. My Early Large Red were excellent as were my Farwell Ranch, Ohia and Peerless. Sweetheart was a big disappointment once again. One of the trees that I purchased as a Sweetheart is for sure a Hak Ip and the other, which probably a Sweetheart barely fruited despite a tremendous bloom and initial tiny fruitlet set. So for me, I really can't tell you one is more of a favorite for me than any of the others. I like Hak Ip's size and seed to flesh ratio but the flavor is my least favorite. Sorry, but that is the best I can do.

Thanks for the info Harry. I'm really getting the Lychee tree bug right now and want the best varieties out there. I wish I could get paid to taste lychees and bring back air layers to the USA.
