My haul from my S. FL trip

Now I just have to figure out how to eat them all before they go bad. Luckily, mangoes are one of the few tropical fruits that my wife seems to like though I question her tastes. So far she has hated Florigon and Po Pyu Kalay which I think are really good. At least she really liked Carrie and Baileys marvel. I have a ton of those so that works out well. All of the below mangoes came from Harry, excalibur, Trini, and another little home nursery near excalibur. The smell of mango was so thick in my car on the 5 hr trip home that it kind of made me feel a little nauseous by the time I made it home. My favorites at Harry's place were probably Zill, Bombay, and one that I have never head of before called Extrema. The extrema really had a nice strong flavor. A lot of the other varieties started kind of blending together after tasting a bunch but the flavor of the extrema really stood out as something different. Thanks for letting me taste them all Harry.

Nice haul! Surprised your wife hated Florigon....that one usually does well. Po Pyu Kalay is good if you like Nam Doc Mai-ish mangoes.

I know the feeling of the car reeking of ripening fruit too, haha. Just made a trip down to Pine Island today (the island, not the nursery) to buy some more fruit and visit some growers. Made the 'pilgrimage to Harry's yard' last week as well along with some stops along the way. My favorite from Harry's may have actually been Tong Dam (sp?). Had a very rich and creamy flavor.:

Wow, incredible photos! I really need to make a trip to Harry's fruit wonderland, though he might not be able to get me to leave (nice doggies).

Wow!!!! Amazing haul both of you! I went to PI but I'm afraid my haul can't compete.
Of the ones I got I must say I was not impressed with miracle mango or fairchild but I will give them a couple more days and see if that will make them better. Florigon was on the lead but second to the first pickering that just fell from my tree. I can't wait to try more varieties this year.
I would love to go to a place like Harry's, seems like mango wonderland!

Of course we had to walk the yard to pick up the afternoon's ripening mangoes (not pictured here) as well. No one went away hungry or empty handed.

JS and Squam - incredible variety in your mango photos....you guys just get them ripening so early in Florida....anyway, congrats on the haul and good luck in their enjoyment!!!!!!
