That is just too expensive for mangosteen. Here in PA they were $9 or cheapest $8 per lb...and that was already expensive. We went to Canada and they were so good there...and a little cheaper too. Canada have all different tropical fruits. The Langkong there were so good too.

I believe they were about $5 a pound at the local asian market here in London, Ontario. I have some small seedlings growing from them now.

Yeah, asian markets are dirt cheap for Mangosteens (purple ones cost about $3 a pound here). I've seen a 6 pack at the supermarket (under that Melissa's produce) for $12.99

Please tell me where in PA i can find fresh mangosteen. I'm dying to try them and don't want to spend a fortune in shipping from an exotic fruit importer.

Oh, in Southern California, but they are imported from Thailand, which is probably where all the ones in the US comes from.

I paid $7 canadian dollars for a pound of mangosteen in Vancouver, 3 weeks ago. They were of excellent quality, nice and fresh, imported from Thailand.
