LA freeway beans

I'm looking for an ID for a plant I saw growing on the freeway in LA yesterday. I was on either I5 or 405 and growing over the top of one of the noise barriers (for several miles) was what appeared to be some sort of legume of other bean-like pods. It was a dense vine with pencil-thin pods about 1-2 feet long. There were thousands upon thousands of the pods, mostly green but some had dried to a light brown. The leaves didn't appear to be pinnate, but it was hard to tell while whizzing by. Sorry no photo, it wouldn't have been safe to take one.

....drive on that freeway and stop by them, put your blinking lights on, (you DID think you had a tire problem, remember.....?) and go pick a couple of the brown pods and get back in your car (after you realized it must have been something you ran over....) and drive home and plant them and see what happens!

Good call, that must be it. I just googled some images and then turned my head really fast to simulate highway speeds. No flowers though. Too bad it is invasive; it is an interesting looking plant.

mango, i'll need to remember that technique.

In other news it took me about 10 minutes to realize the sign for LA RIVER, wasn't spanglish for "la river."
