Jalilu - not sure what Bordeauz mixture is, but if it's like what BestDay shows in those pics I wouldn't worry. Potassium, I've been told, is good for flowering and fruits, so maybe add some of that. I've got a problem, also, of holding fruits on some mangoes, and know I'm low on potassium based on a few soil tests I've had....

Mangodog thanks for your reply. Bordeaux mixture is copper sulfate mixed with hydrated lime. It was first used in France for treating fungal diseases in vineyards. Hope it will work.

Be careful...I might be a little reluctant to spray anything on the tree now that its holding fruits...though it may not affect it not sure if you want to take a chance at this point? Is there an #800 number you can call and ask the company that makes the spray and ask if its safe to spray on the fruits? Better safe than sorry especially since you've waited 4 years for this :o)

Mangodog gave some good advise on adding some potassium...0-0-50...something without nitrogen...but go easy on the application and follow directions...don't over apply. Good luck!!

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately there are no #800 here. I use to prepare myself the Bordeaux mixture, dissolving lime in water then adding copper sulfate to it.

With regard to potassium, I don't have much choice, as both vegetative growth and fruiting take place during the 4-5 month (sometimes less) warm season. Besides, the limited number of direct sunlight (d... surrounding buildings!) hinders growth..

Since the tree has not built yet a strong frame, I believe nitrogen is still needed, and because of that I use a 14-28-14 fertilizer (not much choice). For the time being, I am more in favor of vegetative growth than fruiting. I must confess that until last year I had no knowledge on mango tree shaping.
