? for those with experience -- what is lower temp limit on papaya

To prevent chilling injury to it?

I have a Red Lady dwarf papaya about 3 feet tall, two plants in the pot, now blooming and hopefully the fruit will set. I just got it recently, and want it to succeed.

I know the absolute "lower limit" is freezing, but that's not what I mean.

What is the coldest I should let it experience on a day to day basis as our nights begin to cool off. Right now, it's been hot, nights mostly in the 60s to low 70s. But in August, we often have nights that dip into the lower 50s, and even 40s are pretty common.

So, what is the lower limit? Should I haul it in the garage if the weatherman says 50? 45?

I will DEFINITELY take it in for the night if it's going to be below 40. Don't want to risk it!

TIA!!!
