Jaboticaba revisited

I have consulted this forum before on my Jaboticaba, which has this strange tendency to fruit near the tips of the branches. Some thought that maybe it was a different Myrciaria based on this strange fruiting pattern. Here is a pic from this morning:
Upon closer inspection, however, today I found flowers directly on the trunk, as expected with a regular jaboticaba. Without pics, it didn't happen:
So my question is this: could this be a regular jaboticaba after all? Could the fruiting pattern be a matter of growing conditions or maturity? Watcha think, folks?
