Oh well I hope that they have variability in the seedlings. I have seeds from 3 different sources that I am growing. They do seem to be an attractive plant. Hoping for a decent tasting fruit if not I will be giving the plants away!
I have some small cambucas in 3 gallon pots. They grow very slow. They may take between 10 to 15 years before fruiting in Florida. I do not care for the fruit at all. I have tried it several times. In the other hand, I have a friend who likes the fruit very much. His cambuca took more or less 12 year to fruit in the Naples, Florida, area.
I just stumbled across this oldish topic. Here is what someone told me who has personally tasted Cambuca: "...has a sweet flavor - a little like orange sherbet". And the book "Brazilian fruits and cultivated exotics" says this about Cambuca: "a delicious sweet-acidic flavor". Sadhu says "One of the tastiest Brazilian fruits". But all this doesn't really matter much since it's all a matter of perception of the flavor. By the way, I also grow Cambuca but they are only a few years old.
