I have an emperor lychee that has been in the ground 1 year. It bloomed this spring, but I culled the bloom panicles to encourage the tree to size up a bit.

I don't know what the pollinator is and am very interested in what others have to say on that topic=) I had actually been wondering if I could put another lychee in the built in planting box inside my screen room and get it to fruit.

The insects that pollinate mangoes pollinate my lychee and longan blooms, mainly wasps and beetles. At this time of year, I would include love bugs lol. The bees seem to only go crazy for carambola.

That is awesome how it is blooming out of season, i hope if you decide to let the fruit set they will in fact set. I have two, each on separate properties and one bloomed earlier but did not set fruit, while the other did not bloom, both have been in the ground for a bout a 1 year.
