NorCal Baileys Marvel...some fruits...

I couldn't prune ALL of them off the tree. I'm weak-what can I say? I'm not sure,but these might be full sized as they have some blush too them. The shape is more Manila then the round ones in pics on the net...could be to the dwarfing? What do ya think?

Yes, very different to the Bailey's Marvels I've seen or grown. I have no explanation for the differences. Maybe pollination? I don't think dwarfing has anything to do with it.

I should add Harry,that one fruit is about the size of the others and it's growing on the trunk BELOW the graft. I have two Mango flavors on one tree. Hows that?

LOVE the dimple on the Bailey's. You say they look like Manila's but mine don't have that shape either. It's a mixed up mottled up shook-up world except for Lola.... LOL

I guess we all have stuff we're not EXACTLY sure from whence it came.

Now you got to let us know the taste - great work on the Norcal accomplishment. How big is the tree by the way?

Its about 6'+..maybe 7'. Next year it goes into the ground. It wants to be a tree,not a shrub with that strongly vertical branching. Maybe Baileys is the best bet for Nor Cal because of that growth habit. But,so many types I could never say for sure. Any happy Mango is a good Mango here. And,I haven't picked one yet to eat...that's another phase to come!
Hey Mangodog,what if the below graft fruit tastes better then the grafts? WHAT a dilemna...
