Bagging Fruit

gnappi

I just finished eating the first Papaya off one of my seed grown Papaya trees. It bloomed months ago in the middle of a Papaya Fruit fly infestation, so I bagged it in a white wax coated bakery bag.

It ripened on the tree, and this is the first tree ripened Papaya I ever had and I can say that it's a world of difference from the green supermarket fruit. This one was still a bit hard, but was sweet and juicy.

Funny here, I bought a couple of papaya seedlings before this one was in the ground that also have fruit but this one bloomed and ripened where the others are still rock hard and green.

My message to papaya lovers, don't give your fruit to papaya flies, bag em!
