Here's something I haven't found much detailed information on... whether or not to increase watering when fruit is developing?

I've read of fruit splitting when they get too much water, fruit too small for lack of water, trees dying due to persistently "wet feet" or trees dropping fruit due to lack of water.

Here in south Florida we can do nothing about the sometimes substantial summer rains, but between wet spells what to do?

So that begs the question, "how to maintain balance and still get mature properly hydrated plants and fruit?
