Final results of Baileys Marvel first norcal fruiting..

Well,it wasn't anything like I had read..it did bare fruit-not only did none fall off or abort- I HAD to cut off extra's since nothing would fall. And even though it didn't add much height this year-it was doing over a foot a year in foliage alone before- it grew a few branches with the Mangos.

Taste? Here's the rub. Its potted and seems to want -require- big root room. I think unlike a Manila that can be sweet in a pot BM,needs more. Especially in our moderate bay area summers. Right now fruit are small and sour. No loss, since my wife eats them like green Mangos-with salt. For me,its wait till next year when I plant it..or even the years after when it can have all the energy it needs to be a real tree.

So,I wouldn't put it at the top of ease of growth,or of course, flavor right now,Its a real Mango for norcal and no doubt in my mind those who bought one and planted in ground right away will have better results sooner. Right Tammy? lol...
