Macadamia tree in the front yard?

Hi all,

I planted a "cate" Macadamia tree in the front yard, on the border with a green belt. It is 15 feet from the closest tree (newly planted 5' fig tree trained as an espalier).

I am having planters remorse... is it a good idea to plant a macadamia nut in the front yard? I hear they get huge, but I plan to prune down to 8' wide and 15' tall.

The tree is planted in a 12sq ft planter, 12" above the surrounding lawn for drainage.

I would appreciate any input on whether this was a good idea.

Thanks!
