Mango low temp + winter lighting

I have read where mangos can take low temps in the upper 20 or 30's but, I would like to know for how long.
Is it for a few hours in a single night or if this happens multiple times; will it endure several hits throughout a winter.
My second question is regarding when plants have to be brought in for long periods of time.
Should they be give artificial light if I have several weeks of cold weather to maintain their health.
I have searched for books on mangos cultivation and found one that cost $200.00 or more.
I hope there are mango groups I can join and sources for literature for my favorite fruit on the planet.
I have never grown one and am ready to get going but would like to get busy reading as much as I can before starting. Thanks

in general, they cannot tolerate temps below 32'F. they need some sort of protection. even at 33-34'F the wind chill factor will damage your mango trees.

i have a semi protected porch that i bring all my plants to once temps drop below 40'F. if temps are forecasted to drop below 34'F i'll cover them with frost blankets.
