I'm not sure why but my carrie is blooming now. Could it be the cold weather that caused it to bloom?

Yes you re right. This is the 4th year I have been growing mango. From my personal experience, all my mango trees bloom anytime from September to November, Usually it occurs a few weeks after I bring them in.

Right now, my Carrie has an inflo on it with a couple more on the way.

What really has me excited is my 'Maha Chinook'. I got this tree from Frankies nursery in Hawaii a little over a year ago. At the time, you couldn't buy them from Excalibur or Plantogram. I jumped right on that chance.

The reason why I was so excited about the 'Maha Chinook' was because Lynn had said that there tree didn't flower and fruit well. To see the inflo on mine was a very much needed sigh of relief.

my understanding is that instead of having winter, spring, summer and fall, tropical zones have 2 wet seasons and 2 dry seasons. basically, summer, spring, summer, spring. so they are now blooming during the 2nd spring.

Been keeping a mango and fruit tree log (journal) since all this season. It can never get deleted by accident or hard drive crash because I back it up online. Also keep track of all fertilization I do on a table. This can done in Word or FrontPage, I use the latter. It could also be done in a Gmail that you keep as a draft you are always updating. Don't enter any address, you might press send by accident
