I don't know a good banana variety for a pot but Going Bananas is probably the best place to buy your banana plant from.

If you email them, they may have an answer to your question.

I don't think you will have much success growing in a pot unless the pot is very large.

All my bananas even the dwarf varieties droop to the ground from the weight of the bananas even though they started upright . I think a potted specimen would pull itself from the pot by the roots.

Keep us informed if you find and have success with anything?

I purchased a large Manzano on 15 gallon recently should I pot up or wait until spring? and will this variety fruit on a large container?

I bought 5 varities from Wellspring Gardens last spring, they are now in my living room, thank goodness for catherial ceilings. One is a dwarf, about 3 feet tall, although the 20 gal pot adds another 18 inches. Wellspring has very reasonable prices. The plants are quite small upon receipt, 6-8" but grow fast.

There is a variety called Truly Tiny- you can buy it at a lot of places but Going Bananas is very reliable.

i'm not sure if manzano will fruit in pot, because it's a tall/large platain.
