I agree- year round fruit is an enjoyable feature of living in the tropics. The lemon drop mangosteen are ok- they remind me of Sweet Tart candy. Cons- Low fruit to seed ratio and you have to suck the fruit from the seed. Cons- it is quick to fruit, has an interesting taste and it fruits a number of times a year.

LOL! It's one of those..."holy sh$$!! I've fruited a garcinia plant!!"! Every several fruit you get one that is really really good. Like Gwenn says...most are a bit tart but you can taste a potential. Still worth adding to your collection. Nice pic Gwenn. How are your plants doing? Last time you mentioned losing some from the rains??

Hey Jay- Still wet...lost the rambutan (which still hurts) and losing a number of the old grapefruit trees (not really too sad about those). I really didn't have the desire to trek around in the mud for a long while, so many of the trees really need TLC, fertilizer and some insect soap spraying. Next up: to cut down the dead stuff and things that don't thrill me to make room to plant stuff that is still in pots. Then onto searching for another R162 Rambutan!
