Your thread title says you want a loquat....your message says you want a guava......I'm so confused.

I have heard of strawberry guava but have never heard of strawberry loquat. Sorry.

I know a gent here in CA that has 'Strawberry' loquat, I think it is more of a West Coast CRFG thing? This is one I want to add to my collection too but haven't gotten around to it.

If I can track it down I'll let you know, supposedly it is very good.

If you are looking for a tree that will bear true don't buy a seedling strawberry loquat tree. Loquats won't come true to seed. Find a grafted or air layered tree.

My limited googling seems to show that it is a variety more common in CA than in FL and that it not commercially propagated. I am not sure if you will be able to find it in a nursery. Instead, maybe one of the CA members of the forum will know someone with a tree that can give you some budwood for grafting.

Ben Poirier in Fallbrook and Steve Spangler in Vista usually have grafted Strawberry Loquats. Sometimes Steve sells seedlings of strawberry so make sure it is grafted.
