Did I find a Caribbean Avocado in Cali?

My wifes friend gave her a Avocado from a tree she grew in her backyard. The fruit is light green,not very pebbly,about the size of a large Hass. But the inside was not like any California Avocado..the flavor was very mild..and -get this- it had the consistency of butter. NO exaggeration,I'm not embelishing,I swear. Just THAT smooth..and very light green flesh color. AMAZING smoothness. You could mash like a smoothy for guacamole with a finger.

I will try to get more info after the weekend..in the meantime-what do you think?

The consistency Rob,blew me away. Even before I cut it open..the whole thing was like a wrapped stick of butter on a warm day. Squeeze and it would have exploded I think. THAT ain't a typical California avocado. But it was grown here in NorCal.

that must be a fuerte seedlings....have you ever tried to make guacamole with a West Indian avo, smooth but very very low in oil??? I does not work!
