I heard on the news last week that she was ill.

We didn't agree on just about everything, but I loved to hear her speak. She had one of the most charming accents, and a lovely speaking voice. I would listen and never know what she said, I was so concentrated on her speaking.

She will be missed.

I agree with you, Janie, that she had a good voice. Some Texas and southern accents are like fingernails on chalkboard, while others are like music. Her's was the latter.

She used to call the FW Star Telegram the "Startlegram".

I was shocked too! She used to work for the Dallas Times Herald, as did Mayor Laura Miller. Maybe we should try to find good politicians in the newspaper.
