When I was recovering from the knee surgery and Bob was doing some watering for me I noticed how he would sprinkle the top of the plants as if they had mouths to drink it while the roots were barely getting the run off. That's a common mistake non-gardeners make. When they think 'water the plants' they think foliage. I guess we should say 'water the roots.'

Oh well, I appreciated that he was willing to do it, but had to gently remind him that the roots needed water too. :-)

It's a guy thing. They think power and efficiency. Women think gentle and fragile.

Probably not a good idea to have your husband doing watering of flowers.

There are some guy gardeners, but not very many.

I bought some new hose nozzles yesterday. Hopefully one of the settings is 'gentle' haha! Figure I gotta have a toy for him.

Hope you got the one that has the "shower" setting. Forbid the use of anything else.

oh yeah! I tested them out the other day. One of the nozzles has like 7 settings and one is 'shower' which is awesome. I set it to that, stuck the pin in place and let my toddler water stuff w/ no problem! The other one has a twisting nozzle. As long as you don't make it into a single stream, it is fine.

PJ - that reminds me of one time in college my brother took a power washer to his truck...took the paint off! haha...it just never occured to him that could happen.
