Garden Resolutions You'll Never Keep

saw this on another forum (link below), & laughed out loud a couple of times.

so of course I figured it would be a good topic for this group!

Here're a couple of mine for a start:

I will always wear sunscreen, hat, & gloves in the garden.

I will have baking soda, vinegar, orange oil, & liquid soap handy before I start to work in the garden.

& yours are?..

Here is a link that might be useful: Garden Resolutions You'll Never Keep

I will never overwork myself on a perfect gardening day (like I did yesterday).

I will never garden in direct sun in the Houston Texico area more than 15 minutes at a time between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. from the months of May through September, without at least 30 minutes of rest between turns outside...and never more than 5 such 15-minute turns in any one day.

I will take time to change shoes/clothes before running out to grocery store in middle of gardening and/or will clean up the dirt trail left behind me in H.E.B. aisles.

Come August, I will not keep wondering if spontaneous combustion is a real thing and keep path to duckpond open in case it is.

I will roll the hoses back up.

I will deadhead when there is just a few that need it, instead of a whole yard.

I will never buy a plant that is not on my list, unless I have gotten all of the ones on my list

If I am offered a plant, I will think before I say yes

I will not try to get everything done in one day

I will try to bribe my son to move back home, LOL

I will change out of my good workout shoes into my garden shoes after my morning workout because since I hadn't showered yet, I might as well go out to work in the garden.

I will not be tempted by all those plant catalogs I receive in the winter and I will put them into my recycle bin instead of stacking them up with all my garden magazines.

I will keep my garden gloves on.

I will not misplace my pruners while working in the garden.

I will train my labrador retreiver to poop only on the lawn (bad dog pooping in the veggie garden!).

I will only put out as many tomato plants as my family can eat tomatoes.

    Same for the pepper plants.

I'll try not to scream out wirty-durds when attacked by fire ants.

I'll take off my gardening shoes before I enter the house so my wife won't "scream out wirty-durds"!

I will not make a resolution because I know I will not keep it.

Learned a long time ago, that resolutions were simply based on good intentions and planning, and.......no matter how good the intentions are, planning is subject to change, so, I don't do resolutions anymore.

Resolutions are merely a guide. You are quite correct, Rick.

I already broke my resolution to not buy any plant to set in the driveway. I now resolve to not have more than 5 or 6 plants setting in a group in the driveway.

    Merely a guide, mind you.

    1. Listen to the body.
    2. Don't scare the hubby by ignoring #1.

I will not keep any of your resolutions either.

I will NOT spend too much money on plants.
I will NOT try and sneak into my neighbors yard at night to plant roses..even though her yard is bare and she has the perfect sun for roses...

I will plant every plant before I buy another. Or before the next plant trade.

    Tally HO!
