We have small planes & sometimes military helicopters landing at the little airport near us, cruise very low over our pasture. So low I want DH to paint "honk if you can read this" on the roof of our outbuilding.

I understand. Day before yesterday, I could hear they dropping bombs at Camp Bullis. It is normal to hear artillary, but this was a first.

Once in a while they set off something that can be heard downtown. Then the media makes note of it.

The first time they did the big boomers, it was really freaky. All of the horses, mules and cows were freaking more than me

Last I heard, cats is not a dirty word, although they can make quite a mess sometimes. :-)

Oh, I feel sorry for you all living so close to all that noise. Every once in a while, the police get out their choppers to look for suspects, and it gets a little old after a while, but that's just temporary. Then there's that WWII bomber that takes people for rides for a few weeks each year. That really gets old. You can't hear yourself think, much less carry on a conversation with people while that monster is flying over. At first, it's pretty cool to see it, but by the 10th or 20th time it's flown over each day it's gotten real old. Luckily, it didn't go on for as long this spring as it did last year. I can't imagine what it would be like living next to that kind of noise all the time.
