It's the same for NY to London. Surely this is some kind of joke. Sometimes I think their directions are a joke. They route you to the nearest IH regardless!

Well, It makes sense to me after all it is directions for driving, walking, biking and I guess even swimming if that is what it takes to get you to your destination. Although it is funny to see it.

Google has a rather interesting sense of humor. Of course, if you actually want driving directions to Paris, I guess you deserve some rather interesting directions. (smile)

One of the reasons I still like MapQuest, even though they can send you a few hundred miles out of the way, unless you use zip codes, also.

Too many states with towns of the same name in more than one county. (Talk about folly.)
