How much attn do you pay to color when planning landscaping?

HELP! I'm planning my landscaping and wanted lots of blooms. Just put up a chain link fence and am making a raised bed on the outside for planting a row of Texas Sage - with a row of Desert Willows between them and the curb. Originally, I wanted "Bubba". Bubba is more wine colored and in my way of thinking, having more of a solid color makes the blooms look larger.

It took me 4 hours one day last Fall to find "Lynn's Everblooming" Texas Sage, leucophyllum langmaniae. This variety of Sage is more lavender/bluish colored. They finally arrived. With 28 to go down, I'm now questioning these two colors being planted next to each other thinking their colors would fight. Wine vs. Lavender.

Am I being too anal to question these two colors being this close to each other? I haven't got the DW's yet. So, is there a variety you would recommend over "Bubba" and why? The artist in me would like to hear your logic.

Thanks buds for whatever feedback you can give me.
